Through the simultaneous use of two billboards, in two different cities, viewers are invited to catch a brief glimpse of a dystopian reality.

our world faces Climate change, disaster, pandemics, wars, while we remain apathetic. we are mere spectators of the grotesque global spectacle.
Couchsurfing shows pictures from an imagined dystopic future. the billboards in two cities create a portal, a conduit between the two cities, to remind us that our fates are interconnected.
The buildings in each picture correspond to the area around the location of each billboard.

The DIALOG billboard, located at the IDEAL art space in Leipzig, together with a second billboard located in Athens is an exhibition project. Through the simultaneous use of the two walls, a relationship is established between the two locations.
Augmented Reality app
Couchsurfing_Athens and Couchsurfing_Leipzig are a pair of a free augmented reality applications.
Each app provides an immersive environment and allows the viewer to see how the other location would look like, if we don't take action to reverse the catastrophe.
You can download the apps from Google Play Store
(Android 7.0 and above users only).
The applications use the images on the billboards in Leipzig and Athens as triggers to launch the augmented reality animations.
